Elite Barley is an industry-led program that honors the best malt barley producers in Canada. The program celebrates and promotes the best management techniques in malt barley production.
It also showcases the value of malt and malt barley production in agriculture and the general Canadian economy. Canadian malt is recognized around the world for its quality in producing beer and spirits. Much of that success depends on the growers who are at the front end of the production process. The nominees selected for the Elite Barley program are typical of producers who are consistently the best in the business. Their ability to successfully grow malting barley year after year is a testament to their commitment to best practices, as well as to learning and growing with the industry.
In providing information on how to achieve more consistent malt profitability, Elite Barley seeks to empower other barley growers with the knowledge they need to succeed. The ultimate goal of the program is to encourage the expansion of malting barley production in the future.
2011-12 Elite Barley Program: The program is organized by a committee that is representative of Canada's malting industry value chain. For more information and inquiries regarding sponsorships, grower nominations, related communications or future programs please see, Contact Us.
